Kya Publishing to host 4th annual TORONTO URBAN BOOK EXPO at Toronto Centre for the Arts - Aug 6, 2017

TORONTO, ONT (June 2017) - Toronto-based independent publishing company Kya Publishing will be hosting their 4th annual Toronto Urban Book Expo (TUBE) on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at the Toronto Centre for the Arts’ Studio Theatre, as a part of the Nia Centre for the Arts’ Blowout Festival. The book fair, previously held in association with the Toronto Public Library, will feature published and independent urban writers and their books at a free and family-friendly event, to the soundtrack of a live DJ (Toronto’s DJ Majesty).

Kya Publishing is committed to the documentation of urban culture, and the celebration of literature through their books, research (Journal of Canadian Urban Fiction), events, and community initiatives (Kya Keys Book Donation Program). The annual TUBE was established to provide urban authors with exposure, and networking opportunities—particularly independent/self-published writers. Approximately 40 writers will have vendor booths to sell their projects and distribute marketing materials to attendees at Canada’s only event dedicated exclusively to the promotion of urban literature.

TUBookExpo (Toronto Urban Book Expo) Returns Virtually for 2021

TORONTO, ONT. (July 2021) - For the second year in a row, the Toronto Urban Book Expo will take place virtually, providing a series of workshops and presentations for authors, and online readings. The one-day event is scheduled for Thursday, July 29, 2021 and will feature webinars, interviews, and discussions across digital platforms including Zoom and Instagram Live. Rebranded online this year as TUBookExpo, the writer's retreat and conference was created for authors and publishers to have the opportunity to communicate their projects, explore international networking opportunities, and participate in informative sessions with their peers, experts, and supporters in literature. FIND YOUR VOICE // Online Writing Workshop - September 30

TORONTO, ONT (September 2023) - Toronto publishing and communications company Kya Publishing is co-sponsoring the upcoming Find Your Voice  writing workshop presented by the TU Book Expo, Incarcerated Voters of Ontario, and sponsored by the Toronto Arts Council . The first of three online workshops will take place on Saturday, September 30, 2023 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm via the Zoom platform. Registration is free, and available through TUBookExpo.com . Find Your Voice was first introduced as a special session at the Myseum Intersections festival in April 2022 ( Confinement and Contagion ). September will be the sixth edition of the workshop, that continued to run in the fall of 2022 until winter 2023. Additional sessions are scheduled for October 28 and November 25 of 2023.
